L'artista donerà il 100% delle vendite a Fondazione Pangea
In Second Life sono Cala Rossini, mi occupo di arte e fotografia in SL da due anni ormai. I miei lavori riflettono il mio stato d'animo del momento e la mia speranza è che possa creare emozioni anche in chi vi si trova di fronte.
Ringrazio Kei per l'opportunità di partecipare alla mostra "Freedom to be", immersa in un'atmosfera così particolare. Tutto il ricavato delle mie opere qua esposte andrà devoluto a Pangea - associazione contro la violenza domestica a danno delle donne.

Questo pezzo è stato creato appositamente per la mostra. Esprime la libertà di appassionarsi, in amore, liberando i propri sentimenti. Ho cercato di mantenere dei colori semplici e un luce intensa che possa trasmettere la purezza di tale emozione.

Ho scelto questo pezzo semplicemente perchè penso che liberi le proprie percezioni. E' pura fantasia!

Ho scelto questo pezzo perchè una delle cose che amo di SL è la possibilità di essere quello che si vuole e creare qualsiasi personaggio. Qui si vedono due avatar nei panni dei due amanti morti nella mitologia greca.

-Come è nata la tua passione per la fotografia?
LA mia passione per la fotografia in SL nacque vedendo i lavori dei miei amici e l'impressionante differenza con quello che vedevo ogni giorno. Mi sono messa ad esplorare flickr e koinup e sono rimasta rapita dal talento di persone come Don Hosho e Seb Ulysses. In quel momento mi resi conto che si trattava di qualcosa di cui volevo far parte.
-Come definiresti le tue opere?
I miei lavori vengono dal profondo. Amo cercare di trasmettere passione e sentimento attraverso di essi e mi piace molto lavorare sulle mie opere più fantasy. Sono facilmente riconoscibili poichè tendo a farli assomigliare a quadri, usando anche colori molto soft.
-Come nascono le tue fotografie?
Nascono come un piccolo seme che mi si pianta in testa in seguito a cose che vedo, leggo o ascolto. Poi lascio che il seme cresca, anche se a volte ci vogliono mesi. A volte comincio con degli sketch e poi ci ritorno dopo una settimana e riiprendo in mano il tutto. Spesso trovo che le immagini si completino quasi da sole, come prendessero vita.
-Che tipo di musica vorresti ascoltare guardando le tue foto?
Anche se la musica spesso mi ispira per delle opere, o dopo averle completate, raramente ascolto musica mentre lavoro. Ho bisogno di tenere la mente completamente libera mentre mi occupo delle immagini e una volta che comincio ad ascoltare vengo totalmente rapita . Ad ogni modo, se fossi in una galleria come visitatore e volessi abbinare una musica ai miei lavori mi piacerebbe qualcosa come "Barber's Adagio for Strings" di William Orbit.
-qual è l'idea di libertà che vuoi comunicare con le tue opere?
Vorrei che trasmettessero libertà di amare, vivere ed essere qualsiasi cosa si desideri.

In second life I am Cala Rossini and I have been involved in second life photography and art for nearly two years now. The work I create is very much about how I am feeling at a moment in time and my biggest hope is that the viewer can feel something too from looking at it.
I thank Kei for the opportunity to be involved in this exciting exhibition "Freedom to Be" , set in such an inspiring environment. All of the proceeds from my work shown here will go to Pangea - the association against domestic violence to women.

This piece was created specifically for the exhibition. The freedom to be passionate, in love, liberated with our feelings. I have tried to keep the colours clean and a strong feeling of light so that the viewer can get a true feel of this purest of emotions.

I have chosen this piece because one of the things I love about second life is the ability to be whatever you want to be and create your own character. Here two avatars have become the dead lovers from Greek mythology.

Interview to the artist by Jake66 Back
How did your passion for photography born? ;-
My passion for SL photography started when seeing friends taking pictures and seeing how amazing the final results were comapred to what I had been seeing at the same time. I then browsed flickr and koinup and was blown away by the talent of such people as Don Hosho and Seb Ulysses. I knew this was something I had to be involved in.
/How would you define your works? ;-
My works very much come from within. I love to try to convey passion and drama and am currently working hard on my fantasy work which is an area I enjoy very much. My work is easily identifiable as it often looks like a painting and I love to use soft toning colours.
/ How does a picture made by you born? ;-
My pictures start as tiny seeds planted in my mind by something I have seen, read or heard. I then let the seed grow on its own and this can sometimes be over months. I might start making a rough draft and then come back to it after a week and rework. I then usually find that the image forms and completes itself almost on its own,
/ What's the kind of music you'd like to listen to when looking at your pictures? ;-
Although music will often inspire a piece, or come to me on viewing the finished piece, I rarely listen to music when I am working. I need my mind totally clear to let the ideas come in and once I start listening to music it gets taken away by it, However if I were in a gallery, viewing my work as an outsider, possibly somehting like William Orbit's "Barber's Adagio for Strings" would suit.
/ What's the idea of freedom you wish to communicate with your work? ;-
I would hope that my work communicates freedom to love, live and to be whatever you want to be.
